SIS believes that learning and development extend beyond the classroom. By offering multi-cultural activities in English and German, our students are encouraged to explore their natural talents, expand their creativity and enrich their understanding of other cultures. Our Middle School students participate in a wide variety of activities.
SIS strives to expose students to a variety of visual and performing art forms to instill an appreciation of the arts, cultivate skills, encourage original creative thought and foster public speaking skills. By participating in theatrical productions in English and German, our students improve their personal expression and develop self-esteem. It also gives them the opportunity to work on a team with set goals.
Anglophone Section :
Students in Year 7 and 8 (6th and 7th grade) at our Sèvres and Chaville middle schools work together each year to put on a play for their parents under the direction of their English Literature teachers.
Students in Year 9 and 10 (8th and 9th grade) can participate in our major theatrical production, the Play, along with our high school students. Every year over 100 students prepare for two performances at a local theatre which attracts the entire SIS community. A new play is written and directed every year by our dedicated teachers. This experience is unique considering the large number of cast members and teachers involved in all aspects of the production – script writing, rehearsals and performance. It is the opportunity to participate in a theatrical production and to learn how to work with a wide range of age groups.

SIS offers students the opportunity to take school trips and participate in exchange programmes. In keeping with our commitment to cultural diversity and internationalism, SIS arranges a number of language and cultural exchanges and tours during the academic year.
Students are also encouraged to participate in immersion programmes or exchanges during school holidays.

Dances are organised at the end of the school year for each grade level. To celebrate the end of Middle School, a Junior Prom is organised for our Year 10 / 9th grade students. These memorable evening events are entirely managed and made possible by volunteer parents.
