Window into the Classroom

Today, the students of 3e8 brought in some of their favourite foods to complete a food tasting! The aim was to vary our vocabulary, a key IGCSCE skill, and to practise using the newspaper form. Filling out the food tasting grids, they had to use superb and exciting vocabulary to describe the look, taste, aftertaste, texture and smell of their chosen foods.

On Friday, Miss Loxton's whiteboard was decorated with coloured Post-Its at the end of the morning's lessons. She asked her 3e and 4e pupils to write the title of a favourite book they would recommend to a peer and stick the Post-It to the board. Miss Loxton is currently collating the lists to circulate to all 3e/4e pupils in case anyone is looking for suggestions for their next read.

All 3e pupils are currently reading the novel Rebecca

Miss Loxton's 4e pupils are currently studying Macbeth. Each lesson pupils are invited to perform parts of the play in front of the class; pupils then split into small groups to analyse the scenes in more depth. Here, pupils are seen performing Act 1 (Scenes 6 and 7) of the play.

Students are invited to take part in our Middle School poetry reading competition on March 20th or March 23rd.
